Sweet Parenting: Your Ultimate Guide to Raising a Confident Daughter

We are living in a real world that is really challenging, and kids today are so lucky because of all the good things modern life has to offer but they also face a lot of struggles. We often hear about bullies not just in school grounds but also in social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter. Teenagers or adolescents are exposed to a lot of pressure including online influences, peer-pressure, parental pressure, studies, gender issues, and self-confidence. As on the part of your daughter, she is the greatest treasure of your life, and it is essential for every girl to have the self-confidence to accept who she is, what she looks, unleash her talents and inner potentials, and explore the world with kindness, humility, and passion.

Your daughter’s self-confidence can be shattered in pieces just because of few nasty comments from her friends and bullies. You have to keep in mind that your role as her mother plays a huge part of your daughter’s emotional development because a daughter will always look up to her mother in her formative years. You can boost the self-confidence of your daughter by encouraging her to speak her mind, to share her ideas and opinions even if they are controversial, and not to be afraid or hesitant to express her thoughts and emotions in positive and acceptable ways. If you’re overweight or obese, it’s totally fine using safe diet pills in order to lose weight but don’t be too obsessed with your appearance because it is not a good quality for your daughter to imitate. You have to teach your daughter that looks are not as important as having a kind heart because appearance is only external, and what is more valuable is what is inside. Show your appreciation to your daughter by praising her good traits, her intelligence, and reminding her about the wonderful talents and skills she possess. Guide your daughter and if she seems to like a particular celebrity, tell her that it is fine to imitate famous celebrities as long as they are good role models.

A lot of teenagers are inspired and motivated because of the idea of superstardom as seen on reality tv. If ever your daughter expresses her interest in dancing, singing or acting, you have to support her, but give her some advice about not letting go of her studies, being at her best in her academics, to be responsible, and pursue her dreams with hard work and patience. Always find time to bond with your daughter and talk to her by asking her what are her plans and aspirations in her life. It is best to have an open communication in the family, and do not be too overprotective to prevent your daughter from hiding important matters you need to know as a parent.
